To register for the Zoom webinar of the XIX Biennial IASC Conference with the theme “The Commons We Want: Between Historical Legacies and Future Collective Actions” happening from June 19 – 24, 2023, in Nairobi, Kenya, follow these steps:

 

Registration Steps

  1. The link will redirect you to the Zoom webinar registration page.

 

  1. Fill out the registration form: Enter your full name, email address, and any other required information in the registration form. Make sure to provide accurate details.

 

  1. Submit your registration: After filling out the form, click on the “Register” or “Submit” button to send your registration details.

 

  1. Confirmation: Once you have successfully registered for the Zoom webinar, you will receive a confirmation email from Zoom or the conference organizers. This email will contain important information, including the date, time, and unique join link for the webinar.

 

  1. Check your email: Locate the confirmation email in your inbox or spam folder.

 

  1. Save the details: Note down the webinar date and time in your calendar or any other scheduling tool. Keep the confirmation email handy as it contains the unique join link.

 

  1. Join the webinar: On the day of the webinar, open the confirmation email and click on the provided join link. This will launch the Zoom application or open the webinar in your web browser.

 

  1. Enter the webinar: If prompted, enter your name and any other required information. Then click on the “Join” or “Enter” button to join the Zoom webinar.

Joining the Conference

Joining with a Laptop or Tablet:

  1. Ensure your laptop or tablet is connected to a stable internet connection.

 

  1. Click on the join link to launch the Zoom application or open the conference platform in your web browser.

 

  1. If prompted, enter your conference account credentials (email address and password) to log in to the conference platform.

 

  1. Explore the conference platform, join the sessions, and participate in the conference as per the schedule.

 

Joining with a Phone:

  1. Locate the confirmation email you received after registering for the conference on your phone.

 

  1. On the day of the conference, open the confirmation email and find the unique join link provided. It may be labeled as “Join the Conference” or similar.

 

  1. Ensure your phone is connected to a stable internet connection.

 

  1. Install the Zoom mobile app from your device’s app store if you haven’t already.

 

  1. Tap on the join link in the email, and it will automatically open the Zoom app.

 

  1. If prompted, enter your conference account credentials (email address and password) to log in to the conference platform.

 

  1. Explore the conference platform, join the sessions, and participate in the conference as per the schedule.

Join Breakout Rooms

To join breakout rooms during the XIX Biennial IASC Conference using Zoom, follow these instructions:

  1. Once you have successfully joined the main Zoom webinar session for the conference, wait for instructions from the conference host or presenter regarding breakout rooms.

  1. Once you are successfully transferred to the breakout room, you will be able to see and hear other participants in the room.

 

  1. Engage in the discussion or activities taking place in the breakout room. You can share your thoughts, collaborate with others, and ask questions related to the assigned topic.

 

  1. If you encounter any technical issues or need assistance, raise your hand or notify the breakout room moderator or host.

 

  1. At the end of the breakout room session, the host will typically provide a warning or announcement to notify participants that the session is ending.

 

  1. After the designated breakout room time is over, Zoom will automatically bring you back to the main session or the designated meeting room.

 

  1. Continue participating in the conference by joining other breakout rooms or returning to the main session as instructed by the conference host.
